Donnelley Constructions was contracted by South West Sydney Institute of Tafe to design and construct a flexible learning centre to service both individual and groups of students and accommodate conference and business forums.
The contemporary architectural design boasts a range of appropriately sized rooms to suit a wide variety of training needs including a lecture theatre, which enable large groups to communicate with state of the art audio visual equipment.
Redevelopment of the John Maddison Tower and Downing Centre
In an exercise of versatility, Donnelley Constructions was engaged by the Department of Justice and Attorney General to undertake the complex task of demolition and redevelopment within these two iconic Buildings. The scope of works included reconstruction of 7 courtrooms, hearing rooms, judge’s chambers, member’s area, general office space and amenity areas.
Donnelley were awarded the contract by the Museum of Applied Arts and Science to deliver a revitalisation program at the Powerhouse Museum at Ultimo. The scope included refurbishment of the existing Switch House and Wran buildings, an extension of the forecourt, demolition of an existing lift and installation of two new lifts and four new escalators. As the museum remained open during construction, and the site team called upon their experience in mitigating disturbances to stakeholders during shared access projects. Care was taken when working within proximity of the various exhibitions showcasing irreplaceable objects to ensure no damage or mishaps occurred.
I A Watson Grains Research Centre
Donnelley Constructions was engaged by the University of Sydney to design and construct 12 new PC2 glasshouses of 3x3m dimension, as well as three 10x3m breeding glasshouses, all with associated airlock entry at Narrabri.
Brookvale Bus Depot Redevelopment
The new Brookvale Bus Depot on Pittwater Road, Brookvale, involved the demolition of the existing STA administrative facility, extensive new roadwork on Pittwater Road and the construction of new STA administration buildings on the same site.
Hunter Valley Hotel Academy
The Department of Public Works engaged Donnelley Constructions to design, construct and certify the new Hunter Valley Hotel Academy. The scope included an 1840m² single storey Hotel Academy facility complete with a functional commercial kitchen and training facilities. The building additionally contained bars, cafes, dining and conference rooms.
Chatswood Willoughby Uniting Church
Donnelley Constructions was contracted by the Uniting Church to demolish three redundant buildings, renovate two heritage listed buildings and construct a new Church complex at Willoughby.
Nepean Hospital Oral Health Facility
Donnelley Constructions was engaged by Health Infrastructure to carry out the construction of a new build and refurbishment at the Nepean Hospital Oral Health facility. The scope included a 24 chair dental room facility with reception, dental laboratory, CSSD, meeting rooms, staff facilities, and a complete refurbishment of the existing facility. Working in a live hospital environment proved challenging, but was met with professionalism by the experienced site team, resulting in a timely and successful delivery.
