A unique addition to the Donnelley Constructions portfolio, the Central Sterilisation Services Department upgrade required the demolition and refurbishment of the existing facility, and the installation of new equipment. This involved equipment and finish removal, installation of electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, steam, exhaust and BMS infrastructure, CSSD equipment installation, lift upgrades, construction of a world-class layout and re-wiring. Disruptions to the operational hospital were minimised as Donnelley Constructions coordinated with Nepean stakeholders. Strict timelines were adhered to and a successful delivery was achieved within 8 weeks over the Christmas break.
Donnelley Constructions was awarded the contract for the Mona Vale Hospital Maternity Refurbishment by NSW Health. The scope included extensive purpose-fit design, demolition, upgraded medical gas services, mechanical ventilation, new doors, fire detection upgrades and hydraulic service upgrades including a water birthing bath.
The electrical and data services were upgraded to meet operational hospital requirements and new lighting and joinery were installed. Donnelley Constructions adept safety management saw asbestos managed safely, and proficient communication allowed for the challenging installation of hydraulic services on the fourth floor of a six-storey building.
Donnelley Constructions was awarded the contract to extend Concord West Public School. The scope included an administration centre, 12 new classrooms, canteen, laundry, multi-purpose hall, covered outdoor leisure area, staff facilities and the conversion of an existing hall into a library. Donnelley Constructions seamlessly managed shared areas to minimise disruption to the operational school and strictly maintain safety.
The Department of Public Works engaged Donnelley Constructions to design, construct and certify the new Hunter Valley Hotel Academy. The scope included an 1840m² single storey Hotel Academy facility complete with a functional commercial kitchen and training facilities. The building additionally contained bars, cafes, dining and conference rooms.
A complete refurbishment of the existing residential accommodation was also required. Donnelley Constructions managed numerous stakeholders, complied with DA and Greenstar Design requirements and coordinated successfully with an operational TAFE facility to minimise disruption.
As part of the Building Education Revolution program, Bovis Lend Lease contracted Donnelley Constructions to build five classrooms, a toilet and change block, and a disabled toilet and shower over a split level. This required a complete upgrade of Pymble Public School’s electricity supply.
A sloped site with restricted access made mobilising subcontractors and materials challenging, as did the operational school schedule. Donnelley Constructions kept communication open and strong, upholding student and staff safety above all else and guaranteeing a quality delivery.
Donnelley Constructions was contracted by the Uniting Church to demolish three redundant buildings, renovate two heritage listed buildings and construct a new Church complex at Willoughby.
This included a hall, kitchens, learning facilities, a meeting room, office space and a 26 space car park. A 240,000 litre tank was constructed as per DA requirement and stored recycled water to be reused, ensuring construction sustainability. A large glass atrium which cut into the roof of the existing Church allowed it to be visible as an entrance feature of the new facility.
