Marayong Public School

This project involved the construction of a hall, canteen and covered outdoor leisure area at Marayong Public School.

Limited material storage space and difficult access to site due to a four lane highway raised challenges, but Donnelley Constructions overcame these issues to the delight of school stakeholders.

Existing buildings were removed and major ground preparation was required on sloping land during construction.

Operational school procedures including evacuation drills were effectively worked around as a result of a firm working relationship between parties.

As part of the Building Education Revolution program, Bovis Lend Lease contracted Donnelley Constructions to build five classrooms, a toilet and change block, and a disabled toilet and shower over a split level. This required a complete upgrade of Pymble Public School’s electricity supply.

A sloped site with restricted access made mobilising subcontractors and materials challenging, as did the operational school schedule. Donnelley Constructions kept communication open and strong, upholding student and staff safety above all else and guaranteeing a quality delivery.

A large glass atrium which cut into the roof of the existing Church allowed it to be visible as an entrance feature of the new facility.
