Project Profile
Donnelley Constructions delivered the $18 million Repurposing (Decant) project at Nepean Hospital for Health Infrastructure, completed in February 2024. The project involved the design and construction of refurbishment works to facilitate the staged relocation of clinical and staff functions during the broader hospital redevelopment. Works included internal demolition and strip-out, wall modifications and room reconfigurations, painting and internal finishes, flooring and carpet replacement, ceiling upgrades and modifications, joinery works, and FF&E upgrades, along with adjustments to lighting, power and data services and other building services to suit new layouts.
Project Challenges
The works were undertaken across multiple levels within the South and West Blocks, repurposing existing spaces to support new clinical and administrative uses. It was delivered under 5 of Milestones and 19 of stages, all within a live hospital environment. The project required careful planning and close coordination with hospital stakeholders to minimise disruption to ongoing healthcare services while maintaining compliance with hospital operational requirements.
